Oresund Space Collective
(http://a1.l3-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/73/1b1c178403c409ef80b7a7f8e99c74f7/l.jpg)
It all started with some loose jam sessions in the rehearsal rooms of the bands Bland Bladen and Mantric Muse. Founded by Scott Heller aka Dr. Space (synth, management) in 2004 ØRESUND SPACE COLLECTIVE (OSC) are a multinational crew which get together as often as possible to play free form improvised space rock music. The band name derives from the Øresund Bridge, connecting Denmark and Sweden since the year 2000. The purpose is to offer another flavour with every new session. This is guaranteed by everlasting line-up changes.
Dream Machine
(http://www.progarchives.com/progressive_rock_discography_band/dreamMachine.jpg)
DREAM MACHINE hail from London and were formed by Gabriele Tosti (ex THUNDERDOGS CIRCUS ARCHAOS) who wanted to create a new progressive space rock group in 2002. The band first consisted of Tosti (bass), Farley Brian (drums), Julian Adamoli (piano, organ), Tom Harris (saxophone) and Dan (scratch DJ). The name came from a dream that Gabriele Tosti experienced and was finally chosen as he felt it was a more progressive title for this fledgling group.
NUKLI
(http://a4.l3-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/134/ee9c075acd8544efbadf5a6c9a1a0821/l.jpg)
Totally ignored British prog rock band that surfaced in the 1980s free-festival scene, the same scene that spawned the OZRIC TENTACLES. Like the OZRICS, NUKLI released a series of privately issued cassettes in the 1980s, and it was only in 1997 that any of their material ever made it on CD with "The Time Factory", released on Delerium Records, same label PORCUPINE TREE used to be on. OZRIC TENTACLES and PORCUPINE TREE are now widely known by many, NUKLI basically slipped through the cracks.
Omnia Opera
(http://www.progarchives.com/progressive_rock_discography_band/4858.jpg)
UK outfit OMNIA OPERA was formed in 1985, at first as an unnamed band project that came to be when musicians from local Kidderminster bands The Genetics Of Destiny and OM Band joined forces - Ade Scholefield, Rob Lloyd and Andy Jones.
While doing some more or less succesful gifs locally they found additional members for the band project in the shapes of Mike Tounge, Natalie Jones and Lisa Moriaty.
By 1986 this merry group of people decided to name themselves Omnia Opera
They've released on delerium records and played next to big names in the genre: Hawkind, gong, steve hillage, ...
Quantum Fantay
(http://a2.l3-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/35/800decbe66d1b21c8afb0949c6790c69/l.jpg)
QUANTUM FANTAY plays a kind of music they like to describe as liquid space rock. If this discription sounds unfamiliar maybe the name of OZRIC TENTACLES does ring a bell. But QF is a lot more than just a clone of OZRIC. Their music is sounding like a mixture of progressive rock, electronic music, groove, world music and most of all psychedelic rock, it also contains elements of reggae and dub.
